Laundry

16 Apr

The
laundry
does not
wait. No,
not quietly.
Laundry piles
up, shirts on top
of skirts strewn over
jeggings wrapped around
dress pants from that office
meeting last week where someone
splashed pasta sauce – oh, right! – on a
corner of your best shirt collar. Laundry waits
for just the right moment to remind us where we’ve been.
